Third Sunday in Lent - March 23, 2025

A Closer Look at Survey Results

One of the things I appreciate when I take a survey is a chance to see the results. With that in mind, I'm sharing what we learned from the church health survey that we undertook here at Epiphany in January. Numbers of course do not tell the whole story of our church, far from it, but they do help us see where our strengths and weaknesses are. In our case here at Epiphany, they also give us some things to celebrate. Our church is doing a lot of things that matter well. The full survey results packet, which includes in-depth information about what these scores mean and what goes into each category is available here.

Right now the church health team led by Jeff Zimmerman is completing an initial review and preparing bring ideas to the vestry and listen to the congregation's input. This will begin in mid-April with a series of small group meetings and other chances to connect directly with the church health team. As you look at this results you are welcome to chat with Jeff and the health team right now, just send him an email.

Also, while Need-oriented Evangelism is still our lowest area just as it was a decade ago when we took this church health survey the first time, I'm glad to be able to report we brought it up by six points. We are making progress!

God bless,

How Hard is it to Get In?

Confession and Absolution

Epiphany's priest are available by appointment to hear confession and offer God's absolution of our sins. This is a particularly appropriate spiritual practice during the season of Lent, and a wonderful way to be reminded that God's grace is more powerful than anything we have said or done. If you are interested in preparing for confession, click here. Contact Fr. Peter or Mtr. Pamela to schedule a time for a personal confession.

Stations of the Cross Available Now

A new Lenten discipline we have added to Epiphany this year is one we have done in the past. Stations of the Cross plaques are on the walls along the classroom and office corridor. Following along the road that Jesus takes towards the cross can add depth to Lent that might surprise you. Don't forget to pick up the booklet to guide you, returning the booklet to the little table when you are finished. As you prepare to remember the life-changing announcement of the resurrection, consider making time for reflection during Lent.

Lenten Quiet Day

Focus can be a problem these days. Have you ever told yourself you would take extra time on a Saturday to pray and read the Bible more deliberately, only to find yourself distracted by something at home? It's so easy because we are in our comfortable place. Consider taking some time this Lent to join us at church on Saturday, March 29 between 9am-noon. Come for Morning Prayer at 9:00 or slip in some other time. We are coordinating childcare for those with little ones at home, but we need to know details ahead of time. Contact Mtr. Pamela about childcare. Sign up on the app or in the Fellowship Hall.
