This spring, Epiphany's Finance Committee took the major project of rethinking how Epiphany tracks designated giving. Their work has since been approved by the vestry, our governing board.
When you give money to Epiphany, our priority will always be to use it for the purpose you specify. For instance, you can be confident that if you made a cash-gift to support our recent headphones collection drive for Cub Run Elementary School, it was spent on that project.
Instead of having a potentially endless list of unique designations as we have in the past, we are making an accounting change. Going forward, we now have three permanent general designations that all special giving for projects will flow through: Missions and Outreach, Non-Liturgical Equipment, and Liturgical Furnishings. Any left-over funds from completed projects will stay in these three permanent designations and will be available for use in that area.
When we are taking on a larger project as a church (with an expected need of $25,000 or more), the vestry may vote to open a new designated fund to support it for the length of that project.
Epiphany's general giving policy, and policies for each of these new designated funds are available below as PDFs.

Going forward you will still be able to designate a specific project you intend your gift to support (for instance “Headphone Drive”). The change will be in our office where that gift will now be tracked under “Missions and Outreach” instead of creating a unique new fund called “Headphone Drive."
Epiphany exists and fulfills the projects God has called us to take on because of your generosity. Thank you. If you have any questions about this shift in how we are tracking designated giving, please reach out to our office administrator, Petrina Teoh, or to Tom Miller, the chair of the finance committee.
God Bless,
