Epiphany and every other Anglican church in Northern Virginia has many friends and neighbors that need to know Jesus but don’t speak English as their first language.
This Sunday February 16, we have the privilege of hearing from Fr. Walter Barrientos, an Anglican priest who has served congregations in both Northern Virginia and Bolivia. Fr. Walter is returning to the Northern Virginia area to lead the formation of multi-ethnic services and congregations in our diocese for those whose first language is other than English beginning in the summer months of 2014.
“I’m excited to hear what Fr. Walter has to say to us,” said Fr. Robin Ruah, Epiphany’s rector.
Fr. Barrientos, a native of Bolivia, is completing his service as the Vicar General (the bishop’s principal deputy) of the Anglican diocese in that country. During his ministry over the last decade, he has planted three churches and currently serves as the rector of Iglesia Anglican Cristo Redentor (Anglican Church of Christ the Redeemer) in La Paz, Bolivia.
