Epiphany’s Hot Meals Ministry Feeds Hungry People

At this time we are highlighting the ongoing work of the FACETS Hot Meals Program.  Epiphany has participated in this program to help feed the homeless since its formation over 20 years ago.  Epiphany has four teams of buyers, cooks, and servers with two teams working one month and the other two the next month, all year. There is space for more volunteers to get involved!

Buyers purchase the food with funds allotted from the Outreach budget, cooks meet at a church kitchen to prepare the food, and servers take the food to the motels where the homeless are currently living.  They serve about 80 to 100 people each time.

Jen Grier, Chris Beckley and Sheila Mentzer are spearheading Hot Meals at Epiphany.  Other volunteers include Luta Hickman, Jane & Kelly Derrick, Larry Pantzer, Tom Miller, Darlene Early, Margaret & Merle Stromberg, Steve Mentzer, Frank & Faye Cochran, Fred & Krystal Apelquist, Alvin & Meseret Moore (& children), Teri & Harlan Carvey, Jan Coffee, Nancy McKnight, Dave and Diane Reed.  More people are needed so feel free to be in contact with the office (703-481-8601, or email abracy@epiphanyanglican.net), myself or anyone else involved to learn more.  This is a wonderful way to serve The Lord and show his love to those who need it.
