Something New For Advent
Starting Nov. 30 and continuing through Dec. 21, Epiphany is going to be using a new set of words, a new liturgy. This liturgy is the “Short Form” of the Eucharist from the Anglican Church in North America (our national church body). Many of the words will be familiar. It is almost exactly the same length as the liturgy from the 1979 edition of the Book of Common Prayer that we are currently using. But some things will also be different. Here are a few changes to be aware of:

The Rev. Michael Guernsey Named Epiphany’s Associate Rector
I’m thrilled to announce that, with the confirmation of the vestry today (September 21), I have called the Rev. Michael Guernsey to be Epiphany’s new Associate Rector. Michael will start in this new position immediately.
Michael has more than proven his gifts in ministry and his commitment to Epiphany over his two years of service as our associate minister for discipleship. I’m very happy that he will move up to this position of increased responsibility and assist me in leading Epiphany.
”Faith, Hope and Love: Following Jesus in the Real World”
Being a Christian includes a call to a certain kind of life as a response to God’s grace in Jesus Christ – one shaped by Faith, Hope and Love (1 Corinthians 13.13), but how do we live that kind of life, and who can we learn from as we travel that way at home and at work here in Northern Virginia? Dr. Phil Harrold, associate professor of church history at Trinity seminary will be our guide Oct. 24-26 as we spend time together considering this question at this year’s parish weekend.
Epiphany Star Newsletter for September 2014
The September issue of the September 2014 Epiphany Star Newsletter is now available. Epiphany’s new Rector, the Rev. Peter Frank, answers questions about what to expect this fall and our Archbishop calls for prayer and action for Christians in the Middle East. Pictures of Fr. Robin’s goodbye celebration and our recent neighborhood soccer camp are also included.
Peter Frank To Be Church of the Epiphany’s Third Rector
By unanimous decision of the vestry and with the approval of Bishop John Guernsey, Church of the Epiphany has called the Rev. Peter Frank to be Epiphany’s next rector. Fr. Frank will begin his service as rector on August 31, after the retirement of the Rev. Robin Rauh, Epiphany’s current rector.
