WORSHIP CANCELED on Sunday, January 24
I have decided to cancel all activities at Epiphany tomorrow, January 24. This means there will be no 8 or 10 am worship services or any other events at the church. Please stay home and stay safe as road crews and others do the work of cleaning up after this historic storm.
That said, just because we are home doesn’t mean we can’t worship…
Apprenticing Teachers
You may have seen that we are recruiting teachers for our elementary and pre-school children. I know the first response of many is that this is not the kind of thing you have experience with or would actually enjoy. But I want to ask, “how do you know?” I am calling on the adventurous types who would be willing to come in early to church on a Sunday morning and learn some insights from an experienced teacher and then be a helper for the day. Maybe you will get your feet wet so to speak, and end up enjoying our younger member’s questions and enthusiasm! Who knows what hidden teaching gift might be lurking just beneath the surface. Save the Date: Marriage Retreat
Our Marriage Enrichment Day will be Saturday, February 6, at the church. Our theme this year is “The Power of Prayer in Marriage”, based on the movie War Room. We will also be showing the movie on Friday evening, February 5, at the church.
Thank you Epiphany! – Christmas Eve “Epiphany Gift” Surpasses Goal
Thank you so much for your generosity on Christmas Eve. As you may remember, this year we set aside our Christmas Eve offering to give a gift to our neighborhood. That gift of 900 beginning English library books and English teaching aids for every classroom at Coates Elementary School, had a price tag of about $4,200. On Christmas Eve, you gave $5,506 to support this project.
Celebrate Christmas at Epiphany!
This year, we will be celebrating the Christmas Season at Epiphany beginning on Sunday, Dec. 20 with Lessons and Carols, and then continuing with two services on Christmas Eve. “All are welcome at Epiphany. We are looking forward to a great Christmas celebration,” said the Rev. Peter Frank, Epiphany’s rector.
Help Wanted: Video Operators
The AV ministry is in need of a few people that are willing to learn how to operate the equipment and stream our 10am service. With enough people, your commitment would be no more than once or twice a month.
